• What is an Apostille for DNA Testing?

An Apostille is a certification that authenticates the origin of a DNA Report for international/Judicial use.

When applied to DNA test results, an Apostille ensures that your Chain of Custody (COC) DNA test report is recognized as valid in countries that are part of the Hague Apostille Convention. This certification is crucial for legal purposes and may be required to be submitted for purposes  such as immigration or citizenship applications* (exception for US) , and other legal proceedings.

• Which country issues the apostille for the DNA test report, and why do I need it for my DNA test report?

Suspire provides you COC  DNA tests in collaboration with our  corporate partner  lab; DNA Diagnostic Centre in Ohio, USA. The apostille is issued by the Ohio Secretary of State that validates the authenticity of signatures on the documents.

When you need to use your DNA test report in a foreign country or for any judicial purposes, obtaining an apostille ensures its recognition and validity and  may be requested by the authority.

• What does the Apostille Package include?

Our Apostille package for Chain of Custody DNA tests include:

• • DNA Test Report: Original DNA test  reports detailing the results of your DNA test containing:
    • Signature by Lab Director: The DNA test report is signed by the Lab Director of DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC), ensuring its authenticity.
    • Notarization: The report is notarized by a certified notary public to add an additional layer of legal validation.
  • Apostille by the State of Ohio: The notarized document is then apostilled by the Secretary of State of Ohio, making it valid for international use.
  • Affidavit of the DNA Test: In some cases an Affidavit will also accompany the report, detailing the procedure that has been followed.

• What does an apostille certify?

An apostille certifies the origin of the document, including the authenticity of signatures or seals. Please note this  does not validate the content of the document, but the  signature on the reports validating the report.

• Can I use an apostille within the United States?

No, apostilles are strictly for use for countries outside the USA. They will not be issued for documents intended for use within the United States.

• What countries accept Apostille?

Apostilles are recognized by countries that are members of the 1961 Hague Convention. The Apostille certification allows your DNA test results to be accepted without further legalization in over 120 countries, including:
